Britton Scotland commissioned Donald MacLeod, from the Outer Hebrides, to create a painting of Harris' Luskentyre Beach. The artist has a long held connection with Harris and Harris Tweed®, and we wanted to bring one of the landscapes that inspired the iconic textile into their collection in a new way. Macleod's piece is a dreamy pause on the beach. Donald and Amy both love sunrises and sunsets. The low hanging clouds and gentle lapping waves are illuminated by soft light creating a peaceful and contemplative scene. The artist has incorporated several colours that can be spotted in our Harris Tweeds®. Their commitment to creating products that have a low environmental impact is so that they can preserve these landscapes so they can continue to inspire.
